Why?
Having served in the bike industry since 2013, I felt there was more that bike shops could do for their customers. With the services I offer here, I intend to add to the ever growing, ever changing dynamic of the cycling industry.
My idea is simple. Loving and caring for your bike is my priority, and every good service starts with understanding the problems. I will always give you the time to explain your bike’s issues to fully understand the problems. Whether that means sitting down to have a coffee and a chat, or riding together to experience the issue first hand. I will give you suggestions as well as give you an idea of what’s involved in the service. Lastly, I will communicate transparently every step of the way.
Beyond this, I would like to take services a step further and give everyone willing, a chance to learn how to fix their own bike. The feeling of empowerment and independence of being able to fix my own bikes has brought great joy to me over the years, and I hope the same for you; Even if that means seeing you less and less.
What I’ve done, and where I’m going
I started cycling rather recently in 2013 when I took a job at Cap’s Bicycle Shop in New Westminster. 2 Years on, I would find myself cycling across Canada. When I came back, I pursued my studies at Capilano/SFU for Chemistry, but found myself wrenching on my bikes more than studying. If you’ve ever had your bike serviced at Cap’s you would have likely interacted with me as the service writer there. I have a keen eye for discerning issues with bikes as I’ve been doing this since my first day in the industry.
My background is mostly in road, touring, bikepacking, and commuting bikes, but I have a strong interest in being able to service any kind of bike. At the end of 2020 I left Cap’s to learn more about mountain bikes at Kinetik Cycles. I picked up a 2021 Norco Sight A2 and have been enjoying the ride. I look forward to learning all there is to know about these bikes, and breaking/fixing parts along the way.
